IAB expresses its solidarity with the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes

The International Association of Broadcasting (IAB) expresses its deepest solidarity with the people of Venezuela in the wake of the tragedy caused by the devastating earthquakes that struck on June 24, 2026, leaving numerous victims, missing persons, thousands of displaced people, and extensive material damage in several regions of the country.

IAB extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its solidarity with the injured, the survivors, and those who remain missing or trapped beneath the rubble, while expressing its sincere hope for the success of the ongoing search, rescue, and humanitarian assistance efforts.

IAB also expresses its special solidarity with Venezuelan broadcasters, whose media outlets are once again playing an essential role by keeping the public informed, guiding affected communities, and serving as an indispensable bridge in coordinating emergency response and humanitarian assistance.

Furthermore, IAB calls upon all of its member associations and broadcasters, representing more than 17,000 radio and television stations throughout the Americas, to contribute, whenever possible, to the dissemination of official information regarding rescue operations, international assistance, and relief efforts for the victims, thereby strengthening the cooperation and solidarity that the Venezuelan people so urgently need at this difficult time.

In these moments of profound sorrow, IAB reaffirms that broadcasting fulfills an irreplaceable mission and expresses its hope that the solidarity of the Americas will help alleviate the suffering of those affected by this tragedy and accompany the Venezuelan people on their path to recovery.
